Is This You?

You've always been the capable one. Now you lie awake at 3am wondering if this is all there is.

You say yes to every request. Stay silent in meetings despite having valuable ideas. Watch colleagues get opportunities you want deep down for yourself.

Here's what's happening to many women doctors: inner critics are getting in the way of your progress.

The good news? Once you learn to recognise these voices, you can rebel against them and succeed on your own terms.

When I started coaching women doctors, I kept hearing the same “but…”

“I should speak up, but…” “I want boundaries, but…” “I’m not ready yet…”

What if it’s not actually a confidence problem? What if you have multiple inner critics giving you contradictory orders?

Once you learn to recognise them, you can rebel against them.

BOOK A CALL

The workload is brutal and burnout is at a record high.

I can’t fix the NHS. But I can help you recognise when your inner critics are making it worse—and find your authentic voice underneath all that noise.

The voice that’s grounded, courageous, and wise. The one that knows when to set boundaries, when to speak up, and what you actually need.

FROM INNER CRITIC TO AUTHENTIC CONFIDENCE

I can help you recognise which voice is really in charge.

Help is available

It is hard to see solutions when your inner critics are running the show.

One voice tells you that saying no makes you selfish.

Another whispers you’re not qualified for better opportunities.

Asking for help feels like admitting defeat.

The guilt when you try anything different is overwhelming.

Once you learn to recognize these inner critic voices, you can finally rebel against them.

You are not alone.

And you are not broken.

Here are some ways to get started

Breathe. You can do this.

Some self-help strategies

Strategy 1

Notice which voice is speaking when making a decision this week.

Is this your authentic voice or your inner critic?  Your authentic voice feels grounded and clear, even if the decision is difficult.

Strategy 2

Guilt is a very common challenge. Asking yourself what expectations you are putting on yourself. Is this from your conscience or inner critic?

What would you say to your friend if they were in your shoes?

Strategy 3

Notice when your inner critic is speaking.  What does it say?

Ask it to step out of the room.  What comes up for you then?
